HP Pavillion

Within the last 2 days, my charger for my HP has been really strange. I plug it in, and it says it's charging, but the small light on the side doesn't light up. It ends up dying sometimes, or other times, it'll be charging without the light next to the port lighting up.

It has no visible damage to it, no burnt smell, the outlet and extention chord i use are both functional, but it sometimes says i need to use a ''higher voltage charger'' even if this is the one it came with.

@Stixcpie,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

From what you have shared, the most likely reason for your issue is that your charger has gone bad. This can sometimes happen for no apparent reason.

If you provide your HP Pavilion laptop, I can give you the part number of the charger and a purchase option.

Kind Regards,
