Hi @Sarafb ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000 laptop is not turning on, here are a few steps you can follow to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check the Power Source
- Ensure the charger is properly plugged into both the wall outlet and your laptop.
- Test the wall outlet with another device to make sure it is providing power.
- Inspect the charging cable for any visible damage. If possible, try another charger compatible with your laptop.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the charger from the laptop.
- Remove the battery if your model has a removable one.
- Hold down the power button for about 15–30 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Plug the charger back in (without the battery if removable) and try turning on the laptop.
3. Check the Power/Charging Indicator
- If there is no LED light when you connect the charger, it could indicate a power issue.
- If the LED is blinking or changes color (blinks orange, for example), this could indicate a battery failure or a charging problem.
4. Attempt to Boot Without External Devices
- Disconnect any external devices such as USB drives, external monitors, or peripherals.
- Try booting again to ensure there is no conflict with external hardware.
5. Test with External Monitor (if applicable)
- If the laptop shows no signs of power but you hear fan noise or other activity, connect it to an external monitor to check if the display is faulty.
6. Try Booting in Safe Mode (if it turns on briefly)
- If your laptop turns on but immediately shuts down, try booting into Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key repeatedly as the laptop starts.
7. Reset the RAM
- If you are comfortable with hardware, you can try removing and re-seating the RAM modules. In some cases, loose RAM can prevent the laptop from booting.
8. Check for Any Beep or Blink Codes
- If the laptop is giving any beep sounds or blinking lights, note the pattern. These can be diagnostic codes indicating specific hardware issues.
9. Battery or Power Adapter Issues
- If your battery is removable, try turning the laptop on without the battery but with the power adapter connected. If it turns on, the battery may be faulty.
If the laptop still doesn't respond after these steps, it might indicate a hardware failure (such as a motherboard issue)

I hope this helps.
