HP Pavilion Gaming HDR 32 Desktop Monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone! I connect my laptop to the HP Pavilion Gaming HDR 32 Monitor via a HDMI Cable to use dual display features which works perfectly. However, after let’s say more than 5 minutes, if I were to try to power off the monitor by simply clicking on its power button, it would never work. Furthermore, the other buttons to bring up the menu on the monitor do not work as well. However, without connecting the monitor to anything or connecting the monitor for just a short period of time, the monitor’s power button and menu buttons function normally. I am confused to as why the monitor behaves this way. So for the entire time, I’ve been pulling it’s power plug ever since I purchased it 2 weeks ago. I tried asking the HP community for help a week ago but to no avail. Can someone else help me? Is it possible that the HDMI cable isn’t suitable to connect a laptop to a monitor? I just want the power button to work when the two displays are connected via HDMI.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
