Hey guys 👋,
I’m thinking about getting a new HP gaming laptop but I’m stuck between the HP Omen and the HP Victus . Both look solid, but I don’t wanna end up with something that sounds like it’s about to take off every time I load into Cyberpunk 2077 😂.

  • Does the Omen really feel that much better than the Victus, or is it just the price tag?

  • How’s the cooling when you’re gaming for a couple of hours?

  • Any issues with battery life or performance drops?

@OliviaHazel_W,

OK, let's keep this brief.

If you're torn between the Victus and the Omen, here is the quick breakdown:

  • Performance & coolingThe Omen line is HP's higher-tier gaming brand. It usually runs cooler, sustains higher FPS longer, and doesn’t ramp fans as aggressively. Victus is more value-oriented, but it can run hotter and louder during longer gaming sessions.

  • Fan noise → Both will get noisy in a game like Cyberpunk 2077, but the Omen tends to sound less like a "jet engine" since it has more cooling headroom.

  • Battery life → Neither laptop is meant for long gaming unplugged. Expect 1–2 hours max with reduced performance. For lighter use (browsing, streaming), Victus sometimes lasts a bit longer.

  • Price vs experience → Omen costs more, but you're paying for stronger cooling, higher GPU power limits, and a sturdier overall build. Victus gives good gaming for the money, but with more compromises in noise and thermals.

Bottom line: If you want a quieter, more consistent long-session gaming experience, go with Omen. If you're on a tighter budget and don't mind higher fan noise, Victus will still do the job.

Kind Regards,
