I'm looking to buy the liquid cooler that comes out of the HP Omen X, this one http://i.imgur.com/FTqDC6s.jpg
I went through HP's horrid phone system, managed to get a small handful of people through like 4 numbers. I finally got to the end of my destination and was told by a supervisor that the item i'm looking to buy cannot be bought.
Thing is, there is a liquid cooler on the parts list of the Omen X (X9T34AV) for $50. Is this the same cooler?
(855712-001 In stock
Heatsink - Thermal, 135W Liquid Cooling, ID16 TYPH
RoHS: COMPLY_2.06 )
If that is not the red hp omen cooler, what is that then?
JUST TO MAKE THINGS CLEAR, I DON'T OWN THE OMEN X DESKTOP.
THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT PART FOR ME, THIS IS JUST FOR MY PERSONAL RIG.

Yes, that is correct, these parts may not be available for purchase from HP. However, you could check at an HP authorized retailer like Best buy and check if they sell these parts directly to customers. Hope this helps. Cheers! 🙂

I would like to take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. I understand from your post that you would like to buy the buy the liquid cooler which comes in the HP OMEN X - X9T34AV. I appreciate the research you have done.
I did some research and found that the HP OMEN X - X9T34AV comes with either of the below parts:
- Heatsink - Thermal, 135W Liquid Cooling, ID16 TYPH (part# 855712-001)
- Heatsink - Thermal, 91W Air Cooling, ID16 TYPH (part# 855711-001)
This is a customized computer and depends which heatsink goes with it. Most o the times, the heat sink is not a customer replaceable component and there cannot be purchased directly by a customer. If anything goes wrong with the heatsink the computer is sent to HP repair center to get the heatsink replaced.
Air cooler – fan and a heat sink (left) and liquid cooler – water block, radiator, pump and fans (right)
NOTE: The above images are only for illustration and not the exact same parts may be present. The parts may be different is size and color.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Cheers! 🙂

Could do what we did back in the old Voodoo days and try your hand at building one. 😉 It's not as daunting as it sounds.
Just need the right cooling block for the CPU, a rad, some 1/8" tubing, (Or what ever tubing is needed to fit on your cooling block and rad.) a few hose clamps and a reservoir. 😉

I've ordered spare parts for my two HP Firebird computers in the past directly from the HP Parts Store without any problem.
Just now I placed an order for the HP Omen X Liquid Cooler (855712-001) and received confirmation that I should receive it in 3 to 4 days. Shipping and Tax raised the cost to $65.77.
From the image provided by the original poster the cooler looks to me like a pretty standard sealed all-in-one liquid cooler with some cosmetic changes. I can't tell from the image if the Omen logo is painted or lighted. Lighted would be a nice touch if your case has a window.

I'm not really surprised. Fifty dollars did seem a bit low for what looks like custom sleeving and a nice painted or possibly lighted logo.
