Pavilion TP01-2000a

I got a pre-built from Best Buy not too long ago (not the best choice) and everything is going smoothly except one thing: the vram of the graphics card it comes with isn't the best.

I have a HP Pavilion Desktop PC TP01-2000a, and I want to see if I can put this card into it, but I'm not good at all with computer stuff...

If anyone could help me out, please let me know, and if you need more system info let me know.

@AldusVonVarley,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-2000a PC according to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c07916587, is fitted with an Erica6 motherboard (SSID: 8906) and a 180-watt power supply.

Given that a GTX 1660 Super or GTX 1660 Ti requires at least a 450-watt power supply, the answer would be: no.

But I have good news -sort of, for you.

According to: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Knowledge-Base/Power-Supply-Cross-Reference-for-specific-model..., your desktop is compatible with this 500-watt power supply: HP L05757-800, which can be purchased online, though they are pricey.

If interested, you may want to check pricing & availability online, such as here: L05757-800 HP Gnrc Psu 500W Ent17 Fr Gld (encompass.com), or here: L05757-800 original HP Desktop-PC power supply 500 Watt - sparepartworld.com, or here: L05757-800 - Hewlett-Packard (HP) - Power Supply PSU 500W - Parts-HQ Replacement Parts, for example.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

@AldusVonVarley,

And an additional reason why you need the aforementioned 500-watt power supply, is that the GTX 1660 Super requires to be plugged to an 8-pin PCIe power supply cable, which your current power supply doesn't have.
