Hi @SANCHITH,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To check if the motherboard of your OMEN 16.1 Inch Gaming Laptop PC was indeed replaced, you can look for changes in hardware identifiers such as the MAC addresses of the WiFi and Bluetooth modules. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you verify this.

Record Current MAC Addresses

WiFi MAC Address:

  • Open Command Prompt (cmd) by pressing Windows + R, type cmd, and press Enter.
  • Type the command ipconfig /all and press Enter.
  • Look for "Wireless LAN adapter Wi-Fi" and note down the "Physical Address" (this is the MAC address).

Bluetooth MAC Address:

  • Open Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting "Device Manager".
  • Expand the "Bluetooth" section.
  • Find your Bluetooth device, right-click on it, and select "Properties".
  • Go to the "Details" tab, select "Bluetooth Device Address" from the drop-down menu, and note down the address.

Compare with Previous MAC Addresses

  • Compare these current MAC addresses with the ones you recorded before sending your laptop for repair (if you have them).
  • MAC addresses are unique to each network interface card (NIC), so if the motherboard was replaced, the MAC addresses should be different unless the same NICs were transplanted to the new motherboard, which is less common.

Additional Hardware Verification

  • Check the system's BIOS/UEFI for motherboard serial numbers or version numbers and compare them with any previous records you might have.
  • Use software tools to gather more hardware details:
    • HWInfo: Provides detailed hardware information, including motherboard model and serial numbers.
    • Speccy: Another tool for detailed system information.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
