@Martin_1978 - thanks for the info.

Would you happen to know how I can find HP documentation on my OMEN 30L - Desktop GT13-1380z CTO?

The HP Support website is the worst user experience of any company I have dealt with.  Can't find anything on it even with a serial number.   I am looking for the AMD motherboard specs/pictures to figure out if I can put a 2nd 4th gen nvme drive in it since I don't see a 2nd m.2 port as it was listed in the description.  Maybe it will need to go in the PCI slot and then I don't need to buy a Gen 4 since it will run at Gen 3 speeds

No matter what the HP Bios say about memory speed (XMP profile or Custom Profile), the benchmark shows that the additional memory is running at 2400.  The HP HyperX memory runs at 3200.   Ryzen Master is no help.  So they still somehow have it jacked up.

2400, 3200, 2400 MHz

Which benchmark are you referring to ?

For me, as long as the Windows task manager shows 3200 I assume it's running at this speed ...

I received and installed the 2nd kit of 2x16GB :

Only issue is that the "XMP Profile 1" didn't work, computer beep 1 time and continue at normal speed (2400).

I used the "Custom Profile" and only changed the speed to 1600 (3200). Maybe I'll try to also manually change the other values but as far as I have 64GB @ 3200MHz, I'm happy 🙂

I wonder why the userbenchmark shows 2400 for the 16gb modules and 3200 for the HP module.  userbenchmark.com

Not sure why my memory shows 0 SPD modules on speccy - I would think at least the 8GB hyperX module should show it.  But it doesn't.  it might be different between our computers.  But oh well.  I will assume that everything is running great and at 3200.   Except that my 5800x is not performing as expected despite overclocking (24th percentile).  And I was wondering if it might be due to the memory speed being slower.

I bought the following memory kit.Kingston FURY Beast RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 CL16 Desktop Memory Kit of 2 KF432C16BBAK2/32

PS:  I just looked at system specs using HP Support Assistant, and it also shows the new memory at 2400 MHz.

Same for me, but my guess is that the shown speeds are the DEFAULT speeds of the modules, not the ACTUAL speeds they are running at, so no worries 🙂

Note that CPU-Z (in addition to Speccy) shows the real speeds they are running at :

Thanks Martin.

I have decided that it is what it is and moving on.

I am now dealing with the new issue of the OMEN not waking up from sleep (and not even being able to reset it with the power button - have to unplug it to start again).

For now, I just disabled sleep so that the computer always stays on to avoid that issue.

That is also a known issue that HP Support has failed to address so far.
