OMEN GT13-1765nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I just bought this baby with 16GB of memory (2x8GB) and would like to buy additional 2x8GB from HP (I read that adding non-HP modules was a bit tricky and I don't want to take any risk).

I went to https://partsurfer.hp.com/ and found :

Assembly Part Number : M27296-H72

Part Description : UDIMM,8GB,DDR4-3733,CL21 RGBHyperX,Mic E

However, I'm not able to buy the part number M27296-H72 anywhere on HP.com ...

Can someone guide me on how to buy the exact same modules ?

Thanks.

  • I bought the kit : Kingston FURY Beast RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz DDR4 CL16 Mémoire Kit pour PC Kit de 2 KF432C16BB1AK2/32 on Amazon for 140€
  • I removed the 2x8GB from HP and put the new ones.
  • I went to the BIOS (F10 at startup) to enable the "XMP Profile 1" in "Advanced" (if you keep default, the memory will run at 2400MHz)

Bios XMP1.jpg

  • It works like a charm in Windows (11), showing 32GB @ 3200MHz

@Martin_1978 , welcome to the Community.

You are correct!  There is no guaranty that a third-party memory will clock at the stated speed.  I don't believe that HP is selling their memory at retail.

That's sad ! I'll contact HP Support to know more ... What if I go through a reseller ? How would they get new memory modules if mine were faulty ?

I believe at that point you should be able to get the memory from HP.

After some research, it seems that if I put non-HP RAM into my config, the speed will be downtuned to 2400MHz, but using "AMD Ryzen Master", I will be able to put it back at 3200Mhz ... There are some videos about it on YouTube ...

Another dark zone is how much RAM is my PC able to handle, I'm going mad with this as I can't even find the specifications of the GT13-1765nd on HP website ...

In their bloody "HP Support Assistant", it's show as a "OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a (207P6AV)"

I'm really really disappointed by HP Support Quality ...

Thank you for the additional information, @Martin_1978!

The memory may even be down-clocked to 2133 MHz.  This is the basic speed of all memory before it is overclocked.  I can't find any information on the maximum memory for your computer.

You are correct.  I am trying to figure out the motherboard spec / location of the 2nd NVMe m.2 drive, etc. but can't find ANYTHING on the HP site regarding it.

On the bright side, the HP OMEN 30L GT13-1380z looks very nice.

Waiting on my Kingston Fury Beast 32 GB kit before firing it up.

I do have one question.  Since they shipped it with 1 8 GB module, can I use my 8 GB module alongwith the two 16GB modules for a total of 40 GB?   I have seen somewhere that 32 GB is max but there are 4 memory slots and HANA motherboard supports up to 64 GB.  Has anyone tried just using the additional 32 gb kit alongwith the original?

Hi,

I tried with 2x8GB (from HP) + 2x16GB (Kingston), so a total of 48GB and it worked like a charm ! :

I only removed the 2x8GB (from HP) to have free slots for additional 2x16GB (Kingston) for a total target of 64GB ...

Hope it helps !
