Hi @Shauryateotia,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've tried all the usual troubleshooting steps and your HP Victus 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop's microphone is still not working, here are a few additional steps you can try.

Check Physical Connections: Ensure that the microphone is not physically damaged and that it's properly connected if it's an external mic.

Update BIOS: Sometimes, a BIOS update can resolve hardware-related issues. Check HP's support site for any available BIOS updates for your laptop model.

Test in Safe Mode: Boot into Safe Mode and test the microphone. This can help determine if a third-party application or driver is causing the issue.

Check Sound Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Sound.
  • Under Input, make sure the correct microphone is selected and check the microphone's volume levels.

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Expand Audio inputs and outputs.
  • Right-click on the microphone device and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Run Hardware Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Run the Recording Audio troubleshooter.

Check Privacy Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone.
  • Ensure that microphone access is allowed for apps.

Perform a System Restore: If the microphone was working previously, consider performing a System Restore to revert to a state where it was functioning.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
