Missing valid ip configuration

HP Recommended
Omen Desktop PC 880-p0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the last windows update both the ethernet and wifi have lost the ability to connect to the internet with the error message "Ethernet/Wi-fi doesn't have a valid IP-configuration". The issue does not exist for my other computer where both the ethernet and the wi-fi works and for my mobile phone where the wi-fi works.

I've already tried several methods to resolve the problem including:

Manually set ip, standard gateway, subnet mask and dns

ipconfg /release, ipconfig/renew and ipconfig /flushdns

netsh winsock reset and netsh int ip reset

Tried connecting to my mobiles internet using an USB cable

Running the Network Recovery

Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for said networks

Disabling firewalls from my antivirus softwares

Restarting the router several times

System restore to a point before the issue occured.

The only remaining solution I can think of is factory reset which is a last resort in my opinion and would preferably find other ways to deal with it.

For some, this was fixed by enabling DHCP by opening up the Network and Sharing Center and clicked on the "Troubleshoot problem" link.

If that doesn't work, try the following:

Method 1: How to reset TCP/IP by using the NetShell utility

You can try to reset TCP/IP if you have Internet connection issues. Refer the link below

Note: When finished, it is recommended to restart the PC and check if it is working. If Not proceed with Method 2.

Method 2: Uninstall and Re-Install Wi-Fi and Ethernet Drivers

  1. Press Windows Logo + "R", type in "devmgmt.msc" and click on ok.
  2. Look for "Network Adapter" and Double click on it to expand.
  3. Right click on device which says "WiFI Adapter" and "Ethernet" under "
Network Adapters" and uninstall both one-by-one.
  4. Close Device Manager.

Note: When finished, it is recommended to restart the PC to configure any updates that may have been affected by this. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.
