Your message is short on specifics, such as what PC and graphics card, amount of RAM and OS you are talking about.

 

It is therefore difficult to address your specific situation, but why don't you start (if you haven't done so already) to check if your CPU & GPU cooling sinks as well as other system cooling parts are clogged up with dust which may cause your CPU and GPU temps to push 90+ degrees while under load and causing massive down throttling causing sustained performance drops.


Secondly, please check to make sure that ALL your cooling fans are actually working.


Thirdly, check your background tasks which can also wreck your CPU responsiveness. Disable and/or remove nonessential background programs.


Fourthly, edit/change your Power Options profile to at least "High Performance" if not "Ultimate Performance", as this may also help.
