Hi @GOPAL31,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

It sounds like you're experiencing a black screen issue after updating the BIOS on your Victus by HP 15.6 Inch Gaming Laptop 15-Fb0000 (598U6AV). Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop and disconnect any external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
  2. Unplug the power adapter.
  3. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
  4. Reconnect the power adapter and turn on the laptop.

Step 2: Reset BIOS to Default Settings

  1. Turn on the laptop and immediately press the F10 key repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup utility.
  2. Once in the BIOS, press F9 to load the default settings (you may need to confirm with Yes or Enter).
  3. Press F10 to save and exit the BIOS (again, confirm if needed).

Step 3: Reinstall the BIOS

  1. Download the latest BIOS update from the HP support website for your specific laptop model.
  2. Follow the instructions on the HP website to create a BIOS recovery USB drive if necessary.
  3. Reinstall the BIOS following the HP guidelines.

Step 4: Update Graphics Drivers

  1. Boot into Windows and update your graphics drivers.
    • For NVIDIA GPUs, go to the NVIDIA website and download the latest drivers.
    • For AMD GPUs, go to the AMD website and download the latest drivers.

Step 5: Check for Windows Updates

  1. Ensure that your Windows operating system is fully updated.
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @GOPAL31,

Please check the next set of steps below.

Step 6: Check Event Viewer

  1. Press Win + X and select Event Viewer.
  2. Navigate to Windows Logs > System and look for any critical errors or warnings that might indicate what is causing the black screen issue.

Step 7: Perform a System Restore

  1. If the issue started after a BIOS update, you might consider performing a system restore to a point before the update.
    • Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection > System Restore.

Step 8: Check Hardware Connections

  1. Ensure that all internal hardware components are securely connected.
    • This might involve opening the laptop and checking connections, which should be done with caution or by a professional.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it might be necessary to contact HP phone support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
