Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Omen with a 750 watt 80 plus platinum power supply and a 2080 Super graphics card. I just purchased an EVGA 3080 ti and went to install it and I currently have a 6 pin and an 8 pin power cable going to the 2080 Super.

The 3080 ti needs three x 8 pin power cables.

What is the best way to provide that so I can use the 3080 ti in my Omen?

thank you

hi

you have different possible adapters, depending on what you need, and what is available on the power supply

@tsteele937,

To compliment / compléter @Prométhée's recommendations, as I have been there done that myself:

1.) Use the one 8-pin PCIe power cable

2.) Use a 6-pin to 8-pin PCIe adapter cable

3.) Use a double SATA to 8-pin PCIe adapter cable

Voilà, there are your three 8-pin PCIe power connections for your RTX 3080 Ti. -The last image is for a SATA splitter, in case you need it if you don't have two available SATA power connections:

[EDIT:] Disclaimer: you likely know that a high-powered graphics card such as an RTX 3080 Ti really should be powered using three independent PCIe 8-pin power lanes. Preferably, you should consider upgrading your power supply.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
