HP Pavilion Elite h8-1280t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I install the AMD Radeon HD 7950 I get a black screen, no beep code, no led on the power button, all fans spin on the graphics card and in the case.
If I use my old AMD Radeon HD 7670 everything is fine.
I have the 600w psu. Was wondering if anyone knew what the issue could be? Thanks in advance.

The 7950 uses two 6 pin supplementary power connectors where as the smaller card does not.

Did you also connect those to the power supply? If not, you will get this type of error.

yes I had them connected; it is actually this version : https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-R795WF3-3GD-rev10-20#ov

so it used the 6 pin and 6+2 pin

Im going to ask you to post this question in the Desktop Hardware section also.

There are experts there that might know if there is some sort of bios compatiblilty issue with that card as I am not very proficient with AMD cards on old Elite machines.
