Hello,

I want to add a 2.5" SSD to my OMEN 16L via SATA. I checked that the mainboard has a SATA connection and it fits into the case. The only problem is that the power supply does not have a cable to power the SSD hard drive. Since the mainboard is not compatible with a standard ATX PSU, my question is:
Where can I find a power supply that is compatible with my mainboard and provides a cable to power my SSD hard drive?

Best, Marcello

Greetings @Marcello17

HP provides SATA power directly from the MB when the included HP power supply does not have SATA power connectors.

Yes, your HP PC's power supply is a non-standard power supply.

You should see a MB four pin SATA power connector below the memory slots around the front of the MB near the MB SATA data connector.

HP usually provides both a SATA data cable and a SATA power cable which is required to install an additional SATA SSD.

Not having the required SATA power cable pre-connected to the MB is a tough problem to solve based upon my previous Forum experience.

I've tried, no success, to assist other folks in this Forum in your situation.

Could not find the SATA power cable listed as a part number purchase option at HP Part Surfer when using other similar HP PCs which require the SATA power cable.

Maybe a different Forum member has the part number for the required SATA power cable if your MB has an open (no cable included) SATA power header.

Regards
