The product name is not quite right.

New Desktop arrived today, set it up, updated everything. HP OMEN hangs on startup, the widgets work and show RAM, CPU etc, but it is impossible to move the screen, or select any of the other parts of the app.

For example I cannot make any changes to the Lights.

I do have another 15L that I have had for 6 months that works fine, so I am guessing it is some incompatibility with the Nvidia drivers 

What can I try to fix this ?

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

I usually look at hardware first when a brand new PC acts erratic.

 

Check your PC's hardware using HP Diagnostics as follows:

Start the PC. Repeatedly tap the "ESC" key.

Select "F2". Run extensive system and component tests to confirm: a drive problem, a memory problem, or other component problem.

 

You should return the PC ASAP for an exchange/refund if the new PC has a hardware problem.
