I was recently given an HP Omen 870-244 but I can’t get it to connect to any monitors. I have tried using HDMI and DisplayPort connection using monitors and cables that I know work. How can I get this to connect with my monitors?

The specs of your machine is
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05380412
It has NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 card with Rear I/O connectors:
- Dual Link DVI-D +
- HDMI +
- 3 DisplayPort
- Supports up to four displays at the same time with independent resolutions up to the maximum.
Please check Device Manager to see does the GTX 1070 actually work.
Regards.

Good question ! All ports do not give you anything that means must be something is not right with the video card. Did you ask the old owner ?

Your GTX 1070 graphics card may be defective. As per your specs (https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05380412), your desktop came with an i7-7700 CPU which has integrated graphics, which can be accessed using your rear chassis HDMI ports. However, as the specs also state: "Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed."
Thus, remove your graphics card and see if you can get a video signal through one of the aforementioned HDMI ports:

Assuming you have a video signal through one of your your back i/o motherboard HDMI ports, I would uninstall any GeForce/Nvidia drivers you can find. Download the GTX 1070 driver from here (see picture below): https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/, shutdown your desktop, and reinstall your GTX 1070. Leave your monitor plugged in to your back i/o's HDMI port. Boot back up again.
If you don't have a video signal, maybe your integrated graphics is disabled in BIOS:
- Restart the computer and hit F10 repeatedly.
- From the Startup Menu, enter the BIOS setup utility.
- Click Advanced.
- Select Built-In Device Options.
- Select Graphics, and then select Discrete Graphics.
- Click Save, and, when prompted, click Save changes and exit BIOS.
If all goes well, "Device Manager" should see your GTX 1070 (with generic display driver), but even if not, install the Nvidia download and see if the Geforce software is able to install it.
Let's see if this works!
