I got this new PC a week ago and first thing i did is swap out the SSD with SAMSUNG 980 Pro 500GB.
Everything was running fine until the 5th day when i started copying my personal files maybe around 100GB and it started freezing randomly.
only way out for me was to restart.
do you guys think i bottlenecked the PC with 980 pro or is it wattage issue or possible defective SSD ?

Hi
Download and install Samsung Magician https://semiconductor.samsung.com/consumer-storage/magician/
You can run benchmarks, check temps and drive status, and get any firmware updates.
Could be a bad drive. Try reseating the drive then test again.

i tried doing that but no luck.
long test and short test, they both report no issues.
tried upgrading all the drivers but no luck..
and also let me tell you one thing, when i was trying to do a fresh windows install on this drive. it didnt detect the drive so i had to download Intel rapid storage and install them through bootable media. do you think i might have messed something up here ?

Hi
Did you download, install, and run Samsung Magician to check the 980? Samsung will give drive status and show drive temps and data transfer rates when you run benchmarks. Samsung will show the condition of the drive.
Adding Intel drivers when doing a clean Windows installation should not be required. The 980 uses native Windows NVME drivers. I set up a 980 Pro last year with a clean Windows install. Windows installation media detected the drive.
