OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000i (1S3R9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

As soon as i start OMEN Gaming Hub on my system multiple weird things happen.

My CPU goes to 100 degrees celsius and my internet download speed goes from 500mbps to around 0.5mbps (while uploads speeds remain normal). The whole pc also becomes very slow after i open OMEN Gaming Hub.

I have insured that I've infact downloaded the right software from HP inc in the microsoft store after going to https://www.omen.com/us/en/omen-gaming-hub.html.

I haven't tinkered with any settings in OMEN Gaming Hub, everything just happens as soon as i launch the software.

@agge1,

It may be that your issue is Intel's Turbo Boost. This dynamic overclocking may be kicking in as soon as you start up your desktop.

I found the following feedback that may be applicable to your rig. It may be worth trying it out.

Access Registry Editor (egedit), and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7 and select Attributes. [please make a note what the original setting is, so that you can change it back to what it was if this adjustment doesn't make a difference] Set the value of "Attributes" = dword:00000002. After that, go back in the Power Plan Options and a new option "Processor performance boost mode" will appear. Set it to Disable and click Apply. Your CPU now runs on the stock frequency.

This will disable turbo boost and hopefully your CPU won't heat up as much right off the bat.   This adjustment will lower your CPU performance somewhat, but it could help your desktop from boiling over.

Hope this is helpful.

Kind Regards,
