Obelisk 875-1022 Showing Incorrect RAM Speed

Hello all -

According to the specifications listed here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06343701 - my RAM should be sitting at 2666, however the BIOS only shows 2133.

I've tried looking around and it seems like the easiest way to fix this is to enable XMP, but I don't seem to have that option in my BIOS.  How can I ensure my RAM is running at the correct clock speed?

Are you using the original memory that came with the Obelisk? It should be 2666mhz by default, and also there is no XMP option on any of the HP computers.

@Hwsense I am using the original RAM, but I did add a second stick.  The second stick of RAM should be identical to the first.

Well you would think right, but maybe the Obelisk has the same issues as we are with Omen 30L, where only memory sold by HP will get to the desired speed. I am not really sure about the Obelisk, I have several Pavilion gaming desktops and all the memory I tested works fine at its rated 2666mhz by default.

So just to test this, I yanked out both sticks of RAM and installed one at a time.  Both read 2666mhz by themselves, but as soon as I install both together, the clock speed drops down to 2400mhz.  It doesn't matter if I install them as dual channel or on two separate channels, they register as 2400mhz when installed together, but 2666mhz when installed as a single stick.

That is definitely strange, and you are sure that they are both exactly the same?
