OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop PC GT21-0000a (3G5Y9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I have had a HP Omen 40L for a few weeks now and whilst it does not happen often, the PC will occassionally lock up and the OS will crash, sometimes showing a bluescreen. The first few times this happened I was met with a screen saying "Boot Device Not Found" with the error code "3F0", upon pressing F2 to proceed to the system diagnostics, the tool would be unable to find the SSD. Despite this, after restart Windows 11 would start up just fine. Last couple of times I was met with only a black screen.

I have tried updating all my drivers, Windows and BIOS and none of this fixed the issue. If anyone is aware of any possible causes and solutions I would greatly appreciate hearing them.

My full system specs are as follows:
Operating System
        Windows 11 Home 64-bit
CPU
        AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
RAM
        32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1579MHz (22-22-22-52)
Motherboard
        HP 8949 (AM4)
Graphics
        DELL E2422HS (1920x1080@60Hz)
        DELL E2422HS (1920x1080@60Hz)
10GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (HP)
Storage
        1907GB Western Digital WD WD_BLACK Gen4 SDCPNRZ-2T00-1106 (Unknown (SSD))
Optical Drives
        No optical disk drives detected

Kind regards,

Adam

Hi Adam,

I would return/exchange the PC if it is brand new and you are in the return period.

You have a hardware problem; power delivery, temps, or a failing component. And the intermittent boot drive problem may only be a symptom.

Your PC is acting very erratic.

Finding the source of the problem is time consuming and may require replacement components.

So, either: do a return/exchange, if this option exists, or contact HP for warranty support.

Regards
