OMEN 25L Desktop PC GT11-0000a (ID 9NA82AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,
I've upgraded ram in my Omen 25L PC from 16gb 3200MHZ Hyper X to 32gb 3200MHZ Kingston Fury.
The default speed is showing 2400MHZ, I've seen solutions that you need to change XMP profile, but the issue is, when I enter BIOS setup, there is no Advanced tab. I've updated BIOS to the latest one and there is still no option to do so.
What would be the solution for it?

Original specs before ram upgrade:
AMD B450 Motherboard
Processor - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (3.6 GHz base clock, up to 4.4 GHz max boost clock, 32 MB L3 cache, 8 cores)
Network interface- Integrated 10/100/1000 GbE LAN
Wireless - Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 (2x2) and Bluetooth® 5 combo (supporting gigabit data rate)
Graphics - NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB GDDR6 dedicated) with LHR
2 USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 1 microphone
Video connectors - 1 HDMI; 3 DisplayPort
Expansion slots- 2 M.2; 1 PCIe x16
Memory - HyperX 16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz XMP Heatsink RAM (2 x 8 GB) Transfer rates up to 3200 MT/s. 2 x 8 GB
Storage - 1x NVMe 512 GB; 1x SATA 1TB

Greetings @arapps

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I would guess your MB does not support AMD DOCP.

Some retail Kingston memory modules may not, paradoxically, run above 2400 MT/s on your HP MB.

It is wise to check all replacement memory module timings against HP's memory timings. It's not all about speed.

It is possible for OEM MB manufacturers to program RAM and BIOS firmware to allow for > 2400 MT/s on specific memory modules. This is why the Hyper X memory does 3200 Mt/s.

You might be able to get 3200 MT/s with the Kingston Fury memory using Ryzen Master.

I'm getting no hits at this Site which can list alternative memory modules that may run above 2400 MT/s.

Maybe I'm doing something incorrect at User Benchmark.

Let's see what @NonSequitur777 has to say about your memory upgrade conundrum.

Regards

@Bill_To,

Yea, use: "GT11-0xxx" and you're in business.

Anyway, the OP's OMEN 25L Desktop PC GT11-0000a (9NA82AV) cannot run RAM faster than 2666 MHz.

According to this Userbenchmark site, the best non-HP branded RAM option is 🥁:

Kingston Fury KF3200C16D4/16GX 2x16GB running at 2666 MHz.

Kind Regards,

Using AMD Ryzen Master worked like a charm.

I increased memory clock speed from 1200 to 1600 (it is times two, so it was from 2400 to 3200), pressed accept the changes & run stress test, after it restarted AMD RYZEN MASTER ran stress test, checked the speed in task manager and now it is 3200.

Kudos Bill_To for quick and correct answer

@arapps,

3200 MHz?  -If you don't mind, please have your rig benchmarked through Userbenchmark and provide the link, as I would very much like to see it.

Greetings

@NonSequitur777, I'm having a Homer moment, as I fade into the shrubs, with User Benchmark.

I see almost 900 hits, many being Intel, using GT11-0xxx.

How the heck are you filtering this cohort to isolate a specific HP AMD system using 32 GBs of compatible memory running at 3200 MT/s?

Kudos!

@Bill_To,

Not going to tell you all of my 'tricks'!

As you can see, the OMEN 25L Desktop GT11-0xxx platform is mostly fitted with HP-branded Kingston RAM:

One way to quickly ascertain which RAM performs best, is to look under the "RAM" column.  And it so happens that this particular entry shows the very-well performing non-HP RAM 2x16GB Kingston Fury KF3200C16D4/16GX:

Point is, the OP claims to have RAM running at 3200 MHz.  The only RAM I could locate in this platform running at 3200 MHz (and then only sporadically), is HP-branded Kingston RAM.  It is not clear to me how any of these Users are doing it, because only few Users show 3200 MHz running RAM.  That's why I asked the OP to run the Userbenchmark so that I could take a look at it.  You know: 'trust but verify'.

Kind Regards,

Greetings @NonSequitur777

Thanks for the info.

My guess, in @arapps' situation, is: AMD Ryzen Master should be able to scale up any compatible AMD: DOCP RAM or EXPO RAM on just about any HP AMD "B" or "X" MB.

Even when HP precludes BIOS overclocking on the AMD MB.

IXTU memory overclocking used to be available on compatible HP Intel MBs.

Just a guess??

@Bill_To,

An outstanding guess, for sure!

I could be mistaken (my wife reminds me so occasionally) but it appears to me that HP is not doing a great job instructing Users to use software tools such as AMD Ryzen Master to improve PC performances.

@NonSequitur777

I agree on the HP part.

@arapps should submit a User benchmark result.

Here is my latest PC build User Benchmark result.

I don't overclock the CPU or the graphics card. But I do thermal limit the CPU to 83C and use a negative CPU curve.

Regards
