OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC IDS Base Models (ArticunoI)
Microsoft Windows 11

It could be heat-related but the autonomous shut down seems to be correlated with elapsed run time rather than heat/workload. It seems this issue has been around for a long time with Omen laptops (since 2018) and evidently still hasn't been addressed or resolved by HP, at least officially. Has anyone solved this issue?

Gaming laptops usually required a laptop cooler and the problem is not just HP.  Dust will build up and eventually the heat sink compound dies out. New games and mods go games can run the heat up also.

However, you listed a desktop. I the system shuts down after a certain amount of time there is a fan spinning too slow or not spinning at all.  What does the game hub report for temperature and fan speed?

See if the fans spin easily now that the case is open.

I think you have an RTX-3080, are you using MSI afterburner to control the fan speed?
