Omen 870-2123W looking to buy monitor
12-14-2017 10:44 AM

I just purchased an Omen 870-213W a few days ago. I am now looking to upgrade my monitor. I have a Samsung SyncMaster S20B350. Max Res on it is 1600x900. I am looking to buy something that takes advantage of my computers graphics card. NVidia 1070. I am also looking for good recommendations on a gaming mouse and keyboard.
what are you gamers thoughts on a curved monitor. The primary use for this PC is gaming just FYI. Would like to go to a 4k monitor but would also not like to spend 500+ on a monitor. any options out there for me?

Machine suports the following options
- DisplayPort resolution: 5120 x 3200 x 24 bpp @ 60 Hz / 7680 x 4320 @ 60 Hz YUV 420 8 bit
- DVI resolution: 2560 x 1600 x 24 bpp @ 60 Hz (Dual Link)
- HDMI resolution: 4096 x 2160 x 24 bpp @ 60 Hz ( HDMI 2.0)
The following monitor is designed for the Omen

Hi,
That means the resolution may come down BUT machine supports resolution much higher than monitor resolution.
Regards.

Curved sounds (looks really) dubious.
What's wrong with 75Hz? Not that you can be sure that this will run okay on nVidia.

As far as why 144Hz I would have to say mainly because I’m of the mind why buy the nice gaming computer and not get a nice monitor with high refresh to go with it? Why buy a Ferrari and put cheap Wal-Mart tires on it? Not trying to be sarcastic. Just trying to give an example to get my point across.

Ha, ha, ha. All you need is the Walmart tires, if you only drive to/from Walmart. 🙂
