HP Omen 870-224
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have upgraded TWO HP Omen 870-224 from 8Gb RAM to 16Gb RAM WITH COMPATIBLE MEMORY and in BOTH COMPUTERS the 2nd DIMM slot is not recognized and the BIOS only recognizes 8Gb. There are other post with the same issue on this site. THIS IS AN HP HARDWARE ISSUE WHICH SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY HP.

If anyone has a workaround please let me know otherwise if you have an Omen 870-224 and have the same issue please let me know.

Hello,

Only thing I could suggest to confirm the 2nd slot is faulty would be to move the original stick in that second slot and see if it works.

Alternatively, use one of the new sticks in the first slot to see if the PC works OK with just the new part.

Regardless, HP only supports the original configuration.
