HP OMEN 880-000NA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi My son has the HP Oment 880-000NA desktop (I5 1TB) which has two drive bays on the front for extra hard drives. Am looking to buy one for xmas but dont want to get the wrong thing. Does this just need to be a 3,5 inch Internal hard drive? I have seen a seagate 2 TB Internal hard drive (7200 RPM, 256mb cache, SATA 6gb/s up to 220mb/s) and just want to know if this is compatible before purchasing, Thanks for any help

If that's the chappy:

And its motherboard:

Then you should have 4 x SATA ports, of which there should be two still available (DVD & current HDD occupy the other two).

However what you might not have is SATA cables in place (unlikely) - I had to procure mine for 870 model separately; not sure what's the story with 880.

Please also refer to this manual as I'm not sure if you have HDD caddies / trays in place:

Best to check it beforehand especially as access is quite easy and user-friendly, it seems.

And yes, the disk you chose will be fine - depending on its intended purpose you may also consider buying faster SATA 2.5" SSD (more expensive per GB).

Thank for this.yes it is that model and does have the caddies for extra drives, this is what I meant by it having extra drive bays, just wasn't sure on the terminology, so hopefully it's just a case of screwing it in and then it just plugs in in the caddy. Thanks for your help.
