Product: Omen 880-010z CTO
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A rather simple question- the Higos motherboard on the Omen 880-010z CTO has an AM4 socket, but the website states that the only compatible processors are the Ryzen 5 1400 and higher.higos.PNG So would there be anything stopping me from putting a Ryzen 3 1200 in there? Or is the list just a recommended selection?

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

 

HP validates specific processors; hence the list of supported CPUs at the HP Support site.

 

The processor you are looking at may or may not work.

 

The OEM has to provide microcode to see all AM4 supported processors.
