Omen front lighting

Omen 870-219
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

For some reason my omen control panel is not responding , it is on screen but blacked out, i retried download but it keeps telling me Missing .dll, it just keeps chenging colour, HP could not help me we tried redownloading all HP items.

Would like it to stay same colour, if does not work will just take off wires. Maybe someone has a solution,

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. 

 

As I understand the omen controller isn't working as it used to,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution: 

Did you download the omen controller from the HP website or the recovery manager?

 

While you respond to that, here's what I recommend you do:

 

Click here to access instructions on recovering the original software using the recovery manager,

This process should help resolve your concern, however,  if the issue persists:

 

you can reinstall the Omen controller using the below links:
 

System Event Utility:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71716.exe

Omen Control:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp70501-71000/sp70894.exe

Thanks for the reply, i actually spent an hour with the HP tech and we reloaded everything, all is working well except for the Omen Control, its there but blacked out and if i click on it still get the same response:

 

"The code execution cannot  proceed because SynCom. DLL was not found

Reinstalling the program may fix this problem"

 

Maybe i will just take off the light wires,

It's great to have you back 😉

 

If the issue persists though you've reinstalled the OS,

I recommend you make use of the Recovery Media and that should restore the Omen Controller as it was when purchased,

Click here for instructions on obtaining the recovery media.
