OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop 16-k0000 (665B3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

What it says on the tin. The studio displays the laptop but says it is incompatable, despite working in the past. I did uninstall and reinstall it in an attempt to fix the keyboard lighting not working, which also didn't work.

@Bart07, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

HP System Event Utility

Ensure it’s installed and up to date. If not, download from HP's support page:

OMEN Gaming Hub

Make sure you're running the latest version from the Microsoft Store.

Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > OMEN Gaming Hub > Advanced Options and click Repair, then Reset.

Lighting Service

Look in Task Manager > Services for a service named LightingService or similar. Make sure it's Running.

Full Reinstall in Correct Order

Sometimes a clean uninstall/reinstall in the correct order solves persistent issues:

Uninstall the following:

Omen Light Studio

OMEN Gaming Hub

HP System Event Utility

Any other "SDK" related to RGB or lighting (e.g. "HP Lighting SDK")

Restart your laptop

Reinstall in this order:

HP System Event Utility

OMEN Gaming Hub

Omen Light Studio

BIOS & Firmware Updates

Sometimes lighting functionality can be broken due to outdated BIOS.

Visit the HP Support Site and search for your Omen 16-k0000 model.

Download and install the latest BIOS

HP Support Assistant

Open HP Support Assistant and run all available diagnostics, especially for keyboard, lighting, and firmware.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
