OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-0000i (393C5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

it sound like my PSU fan is constantly running, even when the lock screen is on.  45L omen.

Is this normal or has anyone and idea how to fix this as it is a bit annoying hearing the whiny noise all the time.

Hi

This PC has a passive PSU fan option.

Continuous fan operation is not normal. Have you checked temps?

Hardware Info (free) can show a lot of information on what is happening at the hardware level.

You can download the software at this link: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

Download the portable version.

I would guess your PSU has issues if HWiNFO shows normal temps and your PSU fan constantly runs. Contact HP Support for assistance

Hi @Sven2212,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the fan is turning on even when the computer is locked.

n order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.

  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes to the computer?

Meanwhile, I would like to inform you that the fan functions are system managed and there are no HP tools or options to turn on or off the system fan manually.

Try updating the bios and see how it goes. Click here and check your OS and product number before updating.

Hope that answers your question and you have a good day ahead.
