@Jay833, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP desktop PC isn’t powering on or booting up, let’s walk through some steps to help get it running again.

Check Power Source and Cables

  • Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the PC and a working wall outlet.
  • Try a different power outlet or power strip.
  • If you're using a surge protector, bypass it and plug directly into the wall.

Look for Signs of Power

  • Do any lights turn on (power button, keyboard, etc.)?
  • Do you hear any fans or beeps when pressing the power button?

If no lights or sounds:

  • Try a different power cable (if available).
  • Disconnect all peripherals (USB devices, external drives, etc.) and try powering on again.

Perform a Hard Reset

For All-in-One or standard desktops:

  1. Unplug the power cord.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back in and try powering on.

Check for Beep Codes or LED Blink Patterns

  • If your PC beeps or blinks when trying to start, it may be indicating a hardware issue.

Try a BIOS Recovery (if PC powers on but doesn’t boot)

  • Turn off the PC.
  • Press and hold the Windows + B keys, then press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but continue holding Windows + B until you hear beeps or see the BIOS recovery screen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I had a similar issue with my HP desktop recently — it suddenly stopped powering on. First, I checked the power cable and socket, which were fine. Then I removed the CMOS battery, waited for 5 minutes, and reinserted it. After that, the system finally started booting again. Also, try reseating the RAM and GPU — sometimes that causes the issue too.

That day, while I was searching for a BIOS update, I had nullsbrawll latest open in another tab — ended up checking it out once the PC was fixed. 😅
