Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000a (4H508AV)
Hello everyone,
I am experiencing a persistent issue with the TPM 2.0 (fTPM) on my HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop, resulting in RestartPending: True in PowerShell (Get-Tpm) and an error in Call of Duty: Warzone. The game displays the message: "TPM 2.0 status: not enabled. Module 2.0 requirements. To keep your game and security features up to date, enable TPM 2.0." This occurs despite TPM 2.0 appearing active according to BIOS and Get-Tpm. I am seeking a solution to eliminate RestartPending: True and get Warzone working. I suspect this might be a pre-existing firmware bug.
System Specifications:
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics
  • BIOS Version: F.27 (dated 30-4-2025, recently flashed via USB)
  • TPM Status (from Get-Tpm after CMOS reset and PowerShell sync):
    • TpmPresent: True
    • TpmReady: True
    • TpmEnabled: True
    • TpmActivated: True
    • TpmOwned: True
    • RestartPending: True
    • ManufacturerIdTxt: AMD
    • ManufacturerVersion: 3.92.0.5
  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home, Build 10.0.26100.6584 (Insider)
  • RAM: 16 GB (2x 8 GB Micron 3200 MHz)
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (Driver 32.0.15.8129, 9-5-2025) + AMD Radeon Graphics (disabled)
  • Audio: Realtek, NVIDIA, AMD (virtual devices like SteelSeries Sonar and Voicemod disabled)
  • Secure Boot: Enabled (confirmed via msinfo32)
Actions Taken:
  1. BIOS update to F.27 via bootable USB (repeatedly).
  2. fTPM toggle in BIOS (Enabled/Disabled) with full shutdowns.
  3. TPM driver uninstallation via Device Manager ("BIOS driver for Microsoft System Management" and "Trusted Platform Module 2.0") – multiple times.
  4. PowerShell commands: Clear-Tpm, Initialize-Tpm.
  5. AMD Chipset driver update to 7.06.02.123+.
  6. Warzone reinstallation and "Scan and Repair" via Battle.net.
  7. CMOS battery removal for BIOS reset.
  8. Integrated Radeon Graphics disabled and virtual audio devices disabled.
  • PowerShell commands: Disable-/Enable-TpmAutoProvisioning and Initialize-Tpm after CMOS reset.
Results:
  • RestartPending: True persists after all steps, including CMOS reset and PowerShell sync.
  • Warzone fails to start with the mentioned error upon launching.
  • TPM attestation appears to fail, possibly due to an AGESA bug in F.27, as noted in the Call of Duty Season 05 Reloaded blog (September 2025) for AMD fTPM systems.
Question to the Community: Has anyone else with an HP Victus 15L (or similar model) experienced this issue, especially with BIOS F.27 and Ryzen 5000 processors? Are there any working solutions or patches that HP might not have officially released? I am considering contacting HP Support but would like to hear experiences first. All help is welcome!Notes:
  • I have spent over 6 hours trying to resolve this and am seeking a direct fix. Thank you!

Your PC needs a new HP BIOS update for your specific MB to update the TPM manufacturer version.

Use your PC's specific product number or the serial number at this HP Site to check for a newer BIOS update.

I think you might have to wait for the required BIOS update needed to fix the TPM problem.

The TPM Manufacturer Version of 3.92.0.5 your PC is using is out of date.

See this HP Forum Thread for more information. And check this HP Forum Thread.

Hi Bill,
Thank you for your helpful suggestion about updating the BIOS to F.27 Rev.A!

I used my product number (679K9EA#ABH) on the HP site and installed the version from April 30, 2025. Unfortunately, the RestartPending: True problem and the Warzone error ("TPM 2.0 status: not enabled") are still there. It seems the TPM version (3.92.0.5) hasn’t been fixed by this update. I need HP support to see if they can provide a custom BIOS update. If you have any other ideas, I’d really appreciate it!  As you can see from my extended testing report, I have everything I need to run TPM 2.0.  I'm out of suggestions. It looks like a persistant AGESA bug in the BIOS update.

Greetings @Jeroen123

You will have to wait for a future HP BIOS update. Unfortunately, HP had not been including the latest TPM manufacturing version when doing prior BIOS updates.

For example, here is my Asrock MB TPM Manufacturing version (6.32.0.6):

Maybe a HP BIOS update dated this month or in October, 2025 will fix your PC's problem.

Thanks agin Bill for your help and Swift reply.
I need to update because of new Secure Boot requirements for upcoming games in November of Call of Duty Blackops 7 and Battlefield 6.

i have also got a Acer Predator gaming laptop with Ryzen5. But because I also stream, I needed an upgrade and I bought a HP Victus with Ryzen7.
my Acer updated fine, meets all the requirements.

i would be very disappointed if it is November and there is no update. I either have to stop gaming or buy a new PC. Won’t be HP this time, I will pick MSI.
stop gaming is no option.

I saw there is a temp solution. Buying a cheap TPM 2.0 module with 14 pin header. Install that and disable the HP TPM.

I've ordered a 14 Pin MSI TPM 2.0 Module LPC Interface.

My plan is to disable AMD fTPM and enable Discrete TPM.

I'm just worried that this is an AGESA bug voor the F.27 release, no alternative will help untill a new and working BIOS update is released. The last one was back in April 2025.

Do you by any chance have a suggestion to the "RestartPending: True" problem? If in powershell I run initialize-tpm
TpmReady : True

RestartRequired : False

ShutdownRequired : False

ClearRequired : False

PhysicalPresenceRequired : False
But Get-TPM will still show RestartPending True.

My pleasure.

Adding and using a discrete TPM should resolve the RestartPending: True problem.

I'm not familiar with this error. So I really can't tell you what's going on.

You should turn off Windows BitLocker if you are using Device Encryption before doing anything with the TPM problem.

Thank you Bill.

I don’t use Bitlocker.
Good news for you. ASRock has begun rolling out BIOS updates for its AM4 motherboards to correct TPM errors.

My pleasure.

And thank you for the Asrock TPM heads up.

I'm okay, I have an AM5 B850 MB.

It is not possible to install an external TPM 2.0 module on my desktop.

There goes my hope in bypassing the hardwarekey.

I have no choice but to wait whether HP comes up with a fix or starting November my as gaming PC will be useless.
