Power supply fan stop and start intermittently

Hi - I recently noticed my Omen power supply fan would spin and stop intermittently and requested a replacement from HP.  After installing the new power supply, the same issue continues.  Has anyone noticed this issue?  I have my Omen placed horizontally on my desk which is how I first noticed the issue.  There have been no error messages and performance (temps are low, etc.) has been consistent.  I did replace the stock cooler with a Corsair H60 AIO cooling and that is the only thing that might put the 500W PS under load but I would think minimal since there is an actual LC power made available to support it.

I'm debating whether to try my luck with HP support for another replacement or just upgrade it to a higher wattage 3rd party PS.

I am not a HP employee.

Many newer power supplies have a passive fan feature.

The fan only kicks on when needed. I have EVGA and Corsair power supplies with this option.

interesting, it has been awhile since i purchase new computing hardware and first i have heard of such a feature.  i assume that could be the possibility as well but weird that HP tech support didn't mention it when I reported the issue and the fan stop/start seems too frequent for this to be an intended design (happens during the middle of a heavy workload so it should be spinning at constant speed).  the other possibly is that the control is tuned too much toward the sensitive side.

I thought there was an issue with my power supply when I first noticed that, but as already stated some power supplies have a passive feature where the fan turns off and then on as needed.   It's normal for this power supply as far as I can tell and the computer has been running fine like this.
