Slate 21

Hi all.

I just bought a Slate 21 PRO VERSION in the USA and I want to power it up in the UK ! Obviously the US. has a different three pin plug on 110v to that in the UK on 240v . The data badge on the rear of the unit says 110 - 240 v AC. OK I get that but all other laptops and tablets I have used in the UK seem to power up via a power transformer and then plug in on an LV jack plug.

So my question is :- Do I just cut off the US plug and connect a UK plug to the lead and plug into the mains letting the Slate internal stuff work it out or am I gunna blow this baby up by over powering it ??? Thanks guys ... Kj

@KGJones4,

I would suggest you wait until you get to the UK.   The wall cord unplugs from the "laptop style" PSU.

The local shop will have the proper replacement cord that will plug into your existing PSU.

Thank you for your reply. However it seems impossible to source a UK compatible lead for this pro 21. HP technical and sakes are absolutely clueless, both business and domestic reps have no idea of what a pro 21 even is.  😤😤

@KGJones4,

If you are now in the UK, take the power supply to any local computer parts store. Do any of these make sense?
