HP Envy h8-1549
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

I'm having a hard time connecting to the 2.4 GHz band wireless network that my new ISP just set up.
In the past I was on a wired connection and experiencing no issues. I tried many workarounds and drivers to no avail.
Including resetting winsock and TCP/IP.

What happens is I see a weak signal (under 1 bar, usually only the dot) or no signal at all. And then if I attempt to connect it will give me the message unable to connect to this network. It fails after entering the password.

What's suspicious is that every other device gets a better signal and can actually connect. This is on W10 on a h8-1549.

So what's up, HP community?

Edit: driver version 5.0.57.0

Hi:

I'm surprised that card is still working on W10 for you.

Usually it completely disappears from the device manager.

How many antenna cables are connected to it?

If there are two, I will give you a recommendation for a better dual band wifi AC card with Bluetooth.

If your PC only has one antenna cable connected to the Ralink wifi card, then I recommend you purchase an external dual band USB wifi adapter.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Your PC is over six years old.

Buy a USB dual band wireless dongle. Or get a PCIe WIFI card.

Regards
