Does the pavillions TG01-2202ng automatically come with the advertised ram frequency? in this case, 2933mhz? or do i have to xmp it?

I have to be honest, I have never seen any actual statistics on the loss of performance due to not using matched pairs. Therefore, I can't say for certain one way or the other.

@rauchn , welcome to the Community.
According to the specifications the speed of the memory should be DDR4-2933 MHz You should not have to do anything. In fact, you won't be able to overclock the memory.

Hey, thanks for the answer. I was trying to upgrade my ram to 32gb ddr4 dual channel using this ram stick, will I be able to maintain my 2933mhz? or do i need to adjust the new ones frequency in xmp? does the stick at the bottom that i sent automatically come with stock 2933mhz?

You are welcome, @rauchn!
As I understand the situation, HP uses XMP's that only work with their own memory that they provide with the computer when purchased. Therefore, I believe the new memory would be set to DDR4-2133 MHz which is the standard speed for memory modules.

The motherboard supports Dual channel memory architecture. This means the the best performance will be achieved by installing the memory in matched pairs. You would have to match the current module exactly or replace it with a matched pair.
I suggest that you go to Crucial Memory's website to see what memory they recommend for your computer. You can contact their Tech Support to see if their memory will be compatible with your current memory.
