Ram upgrade and warranty
07-15-2018 12:15 PM

I am considering buying this pc however I have two questions.
1) What is the maximum ram this pc can run with
2) Would upgrading the ram during the warranty period void the warranty?
Thanks

Hello @Scotgr
YOu specs page explains what you can add for more ram... https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-power-580-100-desktop-pc-series/17142197/model/2302...
You will want to match the timings of what you have now so you dont have issues. Use a tool like Speccy to find the timings.
YOu wont void your warranty as long as you dont damage anything in the process, or that the new ram causes any damage. If you send it in for warranty, remove the new ram first.

Thanks for the reply. I would be looking at using this pc for x plane 11.
Do you know how thisoc performs for games? One of my concerns is being a smaller unit the cooling might not be up to scratch for such a hungry simulator.
Thanks

Sorry I dont. I would think its not any different for that flight sim than it is for triple A games.
Dont hear complaints much about heat on these models, so I would think you would be OK.
Just my guess.
