OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop PC GT21-0000i (392G1AV)

Hello there!

I have an issue which seems to be coming from the power source, or at least the fan close to it. It sounds like ratteling and it got even louder over the time. When I start playing games, it does not occure right away, I played for 2 hours the other day and then it started. I dusted the whole tower and tried to clean it, in case something got stuck. After cleaning, the noise came in later than usual, as far as I can tell at least. It was also way more quiet so I thought maybe it was some dust. But I am still not content with that solution. So I hope someone can help me out somehow.

Thanks!

Hi

This noise could be emanating from the power supply fan or the graphics card fans when gaming. One of these fans could be out of alignment. So as temps rise the afflicted fan begins to spin up which spirally attacks proximal surfaces.

The only way to find the problem is to isolate the problematic fan. Try to realign the fan or replace the component if the fan cannot be corrected.
