I have an intel core i7 8th gen, but it won't let me overclock. I'm not sure why.

@JNichols27

I need your full product number. Its located in the HP Support Assistant.

Not all 8th gen CPUs can be overclocked and I need to know exactly what you have.

@JNichols27, welcome to the forum.

You can only overclock an i7 that has a K; such as i7-8700K.  The "K" denotes that the multiplier has been unlocked and can be changed.
