Could you put a gtx 1080 instead of the 1070? Also if you go from the i5 to the i7 with a newer graphics card will the 500 watt power supply be enough? I just got this and I want to upgrade it but idk what I’m doing. I’m new to desktops let alone gaming desktops.

If it will fit length wise, yes.

But your power supply will have to be upgraded.

Check to see what the mfg of the card says it requires. Usually it needs a 600w ATX PSU.

You will want to keep an eye on the Temps. If you get an open air style card, it will circulate the hot air inside the case more so than a blower style card. I dont know how much of an affect it would have on CPU temps. Those 870s have terrible air flow.
