Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I have a OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a (207P7AV). Could you share the link to the upgrade to the latest driver version?

@NY_CA,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Based on the best available information, the Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter is compatible with Windows 11. HP provides updated drivers for this adapter, such as sp160300.exe, sp161604.exe, and sp162860.exe, all dated June 11, 2025, and supporting Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit): Download the Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter driver for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 (64-bit) f....

If you're experiencing issues with the current driver from HP's official support page for your OMEN 30L Desktop PC GT13-1000a, consider trying one of the newer drivers from the list above. These drivers are designed for Windows 10 and 11 and may offer improved performance or compatibility.

Ensure to uninstall the existing driver before installing the new one to avoid conflicts.

The reason that the aforementioned site shows three drivers for the Realtek RTL8822CE all dated 6‑11‑2025 is that these aren’t actually three separate driver releases -they are three different installer packages for the same driver version, often differing slightly in distribution method, package format, or intended platform. Let me break it down:

  1. Same Driver, Different Packages

    • sp162860.exe, sp161604.exe, and sp160300.exe (for example) all contain the same core driver files.

    • They might be packaged differently for OEM-specific installs, generic Realtek installs, or different update mechanisms (manual vs. HP Support Assistant) -the finer details aren't exactly clear to me.

  2. Version Control

    • Even though they have different filenames, the driver version inside is identical (this is what matters for functionality).

    • The date 6‑11‑2025 is the release date of that driver version, not necessarily the date the installer file was created.

  3. Why HP/Driver Sites List Multiple Files

    • Sometimes HP provides redundant packages to ensure compatibility across different system configurations (e.g., certain chipsets, BIOS revisions, or Windows 11/10 variants).

    • DriverIdentifier or other third-party sites often list all available installer packages, even if they do the same thing.

Practical Takeaway: You only need one of these installers—preferably the one labeled specifically for your PC model or the latest “full” package. The functionality will be identical between them.

  • Before installing, it’s wise to uninstall the previous RTL8822CE driver via Device Manager (or let HP’s installer do it) to avoid conflicts.

  • After install, reboot your PC to ensure the driver is fully engaged.

Kind Regards,

Hi, @NY_CA

Here is the link to the latest driver HP currently has for your PC's RTL8822CE Wi-Fi adapter:

Realtek RTL8xxx Series Wireless LAN Drivers

2024.10.230.600  June/11/2025

sp162860.exe

If that doesn't help you may want to consider replacing the Realtek Wi-Fi card with this one.

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP Part # L35282-005

Be very careful when removing and reattaching the very thin and delicate Wi-Fi card antenna wires.
