OMEN Laptop - 15-en0001ax
Reinstalling the original webcam software that came with your computer. I had a yellow caution sign on my camera driver, So I deleted it and restarted my laptop. Then boom it disappeared no legacy hardware no camera driver no imaging device. Nothing! Tried to hard reset but the original driver is still missing. It was an inbuilt HD Vision Camera.
OMEN 15-en0000 Laptop
It shows that no cameras are attached.

Hi @Aarav2009,

Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

Thank you for reaching out to HP Support regarding the missing webcam driver on your OMEN Laptop 15-en0001ax. I understand how important it is to have your built-in HD Vision Camera working properly, and I’m sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused.

Since you removed the camera driver and now the device no longer appears in Device Manager, let’s try the following steps to reinstall the original webcam driver and restore functionality:

1. Check for Hidden Devices in Device Manager

  • Open Device Manager (right-click Start button > Device Manager).
  • Click on View in the menu and select Show hidden devices.
  • Look under Imaging devices, Cameras, or USB devices for any greyed-out or missing webcam entries.
  • If found, right-click and select Uninstall device to remove any corrupted entries.

2. Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter to detect and fix missing drivers.

3. Use Windows Update to Find Drivers

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click Check for updates and allow Windows to search and install any missing device drivers.

4. Optional: Use HP Support Assistant

  • If not installed, download and install HP Support Assistant from HP Support Assistant | HP® Support.
  • Run the tool and select Updates to check for driver updates including webcam software.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved, and if you feel this reply was helpful, click “Yes”.

Thanks for being part of the HP Community!
