So I have an Omen by HP Desktop PC 880-p1xx and want to replace my motherboard as I accidentally fried my sound sockets and my warranty is expired so I'm in a struggle would any other motherboards work the same?

You will face the same obstacles when replacing the motherboard.  Your best and safest option would be to use the same motherboard.  You can check HP Partsurfer to see if HP still has it available:  http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=C1N64-67901

 

If they don't supply it, you can use ebay or other site in the UK.
