Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

My RTX 2060 in my PC is failing. So I'm looking into getting a new GPU. I am planning to get an Intel ARC GPU but I heard that having resizable bar makes the GPU a lot better. So I'm wondering if it is possible to enable resizable bar on this desktop as I do not see it in the extremely basic HP bios menu and it is not currently enabled. Thanks

Hi @LandonHalley 

 

It looks like a B450 MB and your CPU (3700X) could support Smart Access Memory (SAM) with a BIOS update. I have a MSI B550 and a 3900X with SAM support in the BIOS.

 

SAM is AMD's version of Resizable Bar.

 

HP would have to enable this option with a BIOS update.

 

Enabling SAM is not looking good if you can't find this option in the BIOS.

 

I can't find a BIOS update for your MB SSID 86D3 to support SAM. Your PC's driver update site shows a BIOS MB SSID 87C3. But the MB sites show two different MB SSIDs for the same MB:

 

(1) Moria3

(2) Moria3

 

Don't know what is going on and don't see any SAM support in the 87C3 BIOS update.
