I am wondering what my options are for adding an SSD to this computer. I'm mainly concerned with which form of  SSD i have to get and if I need to buy anything extra (like SATA cables or something like that) but any info that could be useful I'll take, I don't know much about upgrading PCs.

Thanks.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

You can do a 2.5 inch SATA 3.0 SSD. Your motherboard has three SATA 3.0 ports.

One SATA port should be open unless you have added additional storage devices.

Check Newegg or Amazon for 2.5 inch SATA 3.0 SSDs to see purchase options. You will need a SATA 3.0, 6GB data cable and a SATA power supply connection to run this device.

You will probably need a 3.5 inch to 2.5 inch HDD adapter to install the SSD in your PC's HDD cage.

I use this product to do this, install a 2.5 inch SSD in a 3.5 inch HDD cage, (Link) with great results.

Regards
