HP OMEN 45L

Why does it take so long to build a Omen 45L? Is it normal for it to take 2+ months?

@dvskeh,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

My friend, it's not uncommon post-COVID for custom-built PCs, like an HP Omen 45L, to take several weeks or even a couple of months, especially under certain circumstances. Here are some reasons why the process can be lengthy:

1. Supply Chain Issues

  • Component shortages: Global supply chain disruptions can delay the availability of key components like GPUs, CPUs, and memory modules.
  • Customization complexity: Custom builds require assembling specific parts, which might not always be in stock or readily available.

2. Demand Surges

  • If HP has experienced a spike in demand (e.g., during holiday sales, promotions, or new product launches), production lines may be overwhelmed.

3. Customization Lead Time

  • The customization process often involves manual steps, testing, and quality control, which can add time compared to buying a pre-built configuration.

4. Logistics Challenges

  • Manufacturing might occur in a different country, and shipping times can vary depending on customs and regional logistics.

5. HP’s Production Schedule

  • HP may batch orders to maximize production efficiency, which could result in your build being queued.

Summarizing, is It Normal for 2+ Months?

While 2+ months is on the longer end, it can happen depending on the above factors. If you're concerned:

  • Check HP’s estimated delivery date: Contact HP support for updates specific to your order.
  • Ask about bottlenecks: They may be able to clarify if a specific component is causing delays.
  • Consider alternatives: If the wait time is a dealbreaker, look into pre-built options or purchasing components separately and assembling the PC yourself.

If you're in the middle of this process, patience is key, but it's worth keeping tabs on the status of your order to ensure everything is on track.

Kind Regards,
