HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 15-dk1035nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone, I’m an architecture student of Abia state university, Uturu, Abia state Nigeria. My laptop was stolen on the 7th of October from my room and I need help in tracking it. I’ve reported the case to school authorities but they seem to be doing nothing about it. Please if anyone can help me track it, I’ll be very grateful 🙏

Hello @Ogubuike_Emma

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

(1) If <HP Support Assistent> was installed or computer registered at HP -> Contact HP Support

Standard procedure would be the following

Please contact POLICE ! They can investigate and have special rights.

You will need proof of ownership: proof of purchase (invoice), documents such as warranty and emails from HP. On the packaging of the notebook there is a sticker with the unique product data

[

product model

product number (p/n)

serial number (s/n)

(2) Please read this post here: Re: stolen notebook ( Thanks @Dragon-Fur for contribution ! )

Kind regards

My school is in a very rural area. And the police we have here, I think, don’t have the knowledge or experience to track it. I called hp support and they told me that I should inform the police and they can’t do anything to track it. I have every proof that I acquired the laptop last year and it’s also registered with hp. If there’s any other way you think I can be able to track it. I’d love to know. Thank you for your reply!

Hello @Ogubuike_Emma

(1) Contact Police and report the theft and tell them all details.

(2) Police should investigate and contact <HP>. That's their job !

Good luck
