Hi I'm thinking about upgrading my existing PSU for a more powerful one so that I can add a powerful GPU like RTX 3060 12GB OC or later and futureproof my system with a little headroom for any accessories I might fancy adding later. Any help would be appreciated. I'm currently rocking an i7-13700 with 1x16GB Ram and one 512gb NVME and one 1TB SSD. I use my system mainly for photo editing using adobe LRC and PS. All suggestions are welcome 🙂

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Well, the only suggestion you're going to get in this Forum is that you can upgrade your HP Pro Tower 400 G9 Desktop (7E953AV) with a 400-watt power supply with p/n: N03175-001 "SKO-PSU 400W 3x12V EPA92'', which is the highest proprietary wattage power supply HP created for your desktop. The only way to get one of them is to purchase it via HP-United Kingdom for £91.01 (excluding tax @ mailing charges, mind you), as seen here:
Link: HP PartSurfer.
But in any regards, with this 400-watt power supply you can power a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this purchase example via Amazon-UK: MSI GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC Gaming Graphics Card - 8GB GDDR6X, PCI Express Gen 4, 128....

No, upgrading your stock HP power supply with a proprietary HP power supply will not void your warranty.
And that includes installing a graphics card.
