I only have around 1 GB of storage left, and my laptop is starting to slow down a LOT, and I can't get any more games, etc., because there is no space. I'm wondering if there is a way I can get more internal storage without losing any of my current storage? Thanks.

Greetings @nts_pc

Welcome to the HP Forum.

I don't see any reason why you cannot upgrade the current internal system drive to a larger capacity drive. You would lose the internal storage available on the existing drive if your Laptop only supports one internal storage device.

You could clone the existing system drive to the new drive to avoid: reinstalling the OS and data loss.

And you could buy a USB adapter (M.2 or SATA) to use the old internal drive as an external backup drive. Or keep the old internal drive intact (having the OS installation as is) for emergency OS backup/recovery purposes.

I can't answer your question without knowing if your PC can support a second internal drive.

Provide a HP Product Number. Maybe the Forum can check your PC's specs. I say "maybe" because it is sometimes impossible to check some PC specs. HP Support sites listing product/MB specifications have been spotty at times.

Some newer Laptops can support two M.2 PCie drives, some can't. Or maybe you can add an internal 2.5 inch SATA SSD to get a total (no loss of existing storage capacity) increase in storage capacity.

Regards
